The One Healthy Habit Everyone Should Adapt | Weight Loss



How many times have you’ve been told to drink water? Stay hydrated! I know you’ve heard it many times before but that is because the female body is made up of 60% water. We need water in order to survive. Drinking water should be your first action step on your to-do list to get healthy! You don’t need a special tea or spend unnecessarily on detox programs. You need to drink water. Yes, it’s that simple. Water! Water! Water! Drink water. You need to detox and get rid of the waste in your body, and the best way to do that is to drink water. Mind blowing right, I know but it's true and very cost effective. I know many of you will say that you already drink a good amount of water. Okay, but did you know that it is estimated that humans lose two to three litres of water through breathing, sweat, urine and bowel movements a day? It's more than likely that you are still not getting enough water.


Are you dehydrated? Ask yourself the following questions:


Do you find it difficult to lose weight, even when trying?

Do you feel bloated?

Do you notice brain fog?

Do you have afternoon fatigue?

Do you experience poor sleep?

Do you have dry skin?

Do you feel joint pain?

Do you notice a decrease in your urine output?


Did you know that a smoothie can help you stay hydrated? There are many fruits and vegetables that are made up of 90% water. "Consuming the water contained in plants is better than drinking water alone. It is already purified, alkaline, pH perfect, mineralized, full of nutrients, structured and energized to absorb easily into our cells." Therefore an easy way to increase your water intake is to have a smoothie a day. This will of course help with your fruits, greens and vitamin intake too. Not to mention that smoothies can be so delicious and even feel like a little treat. In order to maintain optimal health you need to stay hydrated. So how much water should you drink daily? A good rule of thumb is to aim for 3 litres of water daily. Water is essential because it carries nutrients to your cells and keeps your metabolism burning calories quickly. By increasing your water intake you'll find your energy levels rise. "Most importantly, water will improve your body's functions in every way and fortify your body to help prevent weight gain, slow the aging process and protect against disease." I recommend reading the book "Quench" by Dana Cohen, MD & Gina Bria for more information and to read the evidence provided through case studies on the benefits of staying hydrated.


I know water can get boring so here are some tips to make water more exciting:

Add fruit

Add mint

Add chia seeds

Get a pretty water bottle
