Hot girl Summer | 5 Health Benefits of Following a Fitness Program

You probably heard the phrase "Hot girl summer" a lot over this past month. After googling the meaning (lmao), I could definitely get down with having a "Hot girl summer". The phrase means to "live your most confident and unapologetic life. Loving who you are and doing what you want, without caring what others think" (-Time.com).




However, instead of saying "Hot girl summer", I would say "Hot girl 365" because I am trying to be the best version of myself all year round. I'm learning to not only accept my body but to love every piece of me. A fitness journey is not just about the end result it's about the process of getting there. You are the only person that can measure your success, only you truly know where you started and how far you've come. So celebrate your wins no matter how small, stand up tall, walk with confidence and don't apologize for wanting to take care of yourself!

Taking care of yourself, especially your mind and body in the way in which you want is in itself an act of self-love but when you also add consistency, that is discipline. "Self-love is discipline!" (-Jada Pinketett-Smith)

You can be happy with the person you are and still want to improve. Taking care of yourself is not about vanity, although there is nothing wrong with wanting to look good. For me, wanting to look good is not a big enough reason for me to hit the gym or eat right. I never saw the results I wanted with that mentality. Instead, when I changed my WHY, my reason for wanting to lose weight and started following a program, that's when I started to see results.

Whether you are working out at home or in the gym, the best way to achieve your fitness goals is to follow a program!
